I am about to go BMW club racing and I'd love to put together a video of each race. I have a sony Digital 8 camera...is that suitable for this caliber stuff? I need a write up and recommendations for good background music.

The key is just to get the footage captured to MPEG or AVI on your PC. I prefer AVI (not compressed but very large files). You just use an editing package like Adobe Premiere, Vegas Video, Pinnacle Studio etc.

I just used plain old Windows MovieMaker that comes with XP to edit the clips. I've been interested in making short clips forever now but didn't have a high powered PC until now to do this. I learned by experimenting and watching other clips to see what elements they used.

Docmusolf prepared a great little Grattan video last year that's similar to this one, but he may be outdoing himself this year. You might to ask him, and/or try to get a copy of the DVD. It sounds like this "file", though, is too large to link/download.
