how did it work out for you? did you end up paying out of pocket? Plymouth is greedy - they pay $35/hour and Don's rate is higher.
PS. If you are planning to use Village Glassmith, FIRST give Don a call and THEN call your insurance (this is a message from Don to the community).
PS2. Don is highly recommended by many of you and he sounded like a very reasonable man on the phone. I hope everything works out for me too. It is kinda sad to see how a highly professional small business has to battle with insurance companies for a fair pay.

Yes and yes.
I had a cracked windshield recently and have Plymouth Rock. What the insurance company doens't advertise is that they can not set the rate to replace the windshield unless it is specifically written in your policy, which it isn't. I called Don and he and I conference called the rep. During that call, I stated that I wanted Don to do the glass, and Don stated that he does not accept their rate because it is unfair and unreasonable. Once the rep hears that, they tell me I may have to pay out of pocket. I tell them that I still want Don to do the glass and that no where in my policy is there a set rate or cost to replace a windshield. Long story short, his work is exceptional, and I haven't paid a penny. And this has happened twice. Go with him - no question.

thanks. glad to hear it
I had a conference call exactly as you described. The insurance rep was reading from a script and not answering any of my questions whatsoever

He does great work. Most glass guys (the big companies) are total hacks and do not give the job the
time and effort it requires to be done correctly and safely. I probably would pay a lil extra for OEM glass next time tho.

another job done by Don Cotton
Finally, it is a sunny day after a week of rain. Don did my windshield this morning. Real professional.
Let's see if Plymouth will come after me with any bogus extra charges.
