Default Boston folks: Restaurant suggestions needed.

I have been to the Oak Room and LOVED it! Is there anywhere else you guys suggest besides there or is that top of the top? It's for a surprise dinner/celebration.

You guys haven't steered me wrong yet!

Default Just starting to plan it now...*edit* at most 8 people.

If everything goes as planned, I will be getting engaged on vacation. We fly back into boston and her friend is picking us up to bring us back to cape cod.

Plan is to have her friend (and her bf) still get us but surprise her and bring us to a restaurant and hotel for night. I want to try to get others to come down to the dinner as well.

Default G'Vannis in the North End - rly good Italian (tiny/cozy/romantic), but you almost always have to

wait as your table is almost never ready right at the time of your reservation. I tell myself it's part of the charm and worth it.

Casa Romero - tucked away in an alley next to the more famous L'Espalier (which is not a bad option itself if you want high end french food for big $). Some of the best Mexican food ever. But not bull**** quesadilla type Mexican - think roast pork loin, rly amazing enchiladas, steaks, and the best sangria I have EVER had.

Those are just my first two thoughts.

Default Nice. I've also been to L'espalier and loved it. Service at both O.R. and there was

top notch.

Default Gaslight. 560 Harrison ave. Boston

not an ultra "celebration" restaurant, but classy and very trendy and 25-40 entree

Default You thinking of the same Gaslight? Entrees are just under $20 unless you're going for

their nightly specials which are mid 20s.
