Default Cant move the shifter into gear (plus a question about Status)

I have posted about this in the B5 forum but I thought I'd pick your brains here too.

I bought a B5 a few days ago, it was driving alright. I thought I felt some slippage with the clutch but I dont know how severe it really was.

Anyway, I now cant move the stick into gear. I will have the clutch all the way to the floor and it wont budge into 1st (or any other gear for that matter). If by the grace of god it makes it into gear- its stuck there until I shut the car off and I can work it back out.

Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this? Its getting towed to Tony @ Status today- he has been highly recommended on this forum.

Do you guys know if he charges to look at it?

Default Can't say for sure, but I am pretty sure he'll charge you some money if he

pulls the tranny out of the car to inspect it. With that said his rates are very good and he is great mechanic.

Default If B5 S4, I'd guess broken fingers on the pressure plate

If B5 A4, I'd guess the slave cylinder.

Default Throwout bearing will make lots of bad noises when it's toasted

It would also change the pedal feel if it's that bad.
