Im stoked about it because i love turbos, but the general consencus
seems to be pretty split. I think the only naturally aspirated engine i would ever own is a porsche 3.8L. I think much of the discussion concerns the turbos audi uses with this 3 liter monster, and the hopes that they arent the plagued Ko3's.... but imho bring on the turbos whatever they are!!!

I stopped by yesterday on my way home...
...but you were not in yet. It was before 5PM, and I had to go next door to the dry cleaners. Some day I'll actually catch you there, no?

Totally...
Remember, the K03 was not itself a flawed turbo, and in fact they had very few problems in the Allroad and A6 applications. It was really two specific problems in the S4 engine bay: 1, the tight space meant that you couldn't get heat away from the turbos, and 2, the passenger side oil line running right past the exhaust manifold.
The B7 is a bigger car so I'm sure the engine bay will have a little more room for the turbos (despite the larger displacement engine) and I'm SURE they learned their lesson about that oil line.
Also remember that K03 variants are nearly flawless on 1.8T and 2.0T applications.
That said, a 3.0TT with K16s or K04/K16 hybrids will be very interesting. I can see the 3.0TT making 400hp easily with a chip, and 500 to 600 with bigger turbos fairly easily once the tuning is mature. Basically, add 70 to 80hp to the numbers from the 2.7T for any given state of tune and I think that's what the 3.0 will be able to do.
That said, given how much heavier the car is than the B5, I don't expect it will actually be any faster. However, the improved weight distribution and more advanced chassis should make it more fun to drive
