Default Engine tear out pics...

posted these pics a couple days ago on the a4 forum, but thought you guys might like to see...

took my dad and I about 11 hrs start to finish to get it to where you see in the pictures. I'll be tearing everything else off except the valve cover, head, block, and oil pan, and then it's off to be rebuilt.

Default The ceiling in my shop is 10' 8". Something will fit. My advice to anyone buying a lift is to...

...find out who services the lifts in the shops in your area and contact them about a used lift. I bought my Challenger for $1000 installed versus buying something on the internet for $3k and then figuring out how to install it.

Default this one is just about 11'10", so I would say 12ft min for ceilings.

you'll need that extra two inches to install the bolts and nuts. There are lower rise ones, but you really can't get the car in the air high enough comfortably to work on it.

Default mine was about half that. and installation really isn't that bad.

Just take your time and follow the directions. It did help that we had a john deer tractor to hoist up the upper section into place. and put the towers up. I weighed the options of used, but decided soemthing new was the better way to go... for my use.

Default I have BenPak mid rise scissor lift which covers everything I need to do. Can't drop a transmission

that's my only limitation. I only have 9' ceilings so a good choice if you can't get a full height unit.
