Hatred for tow trucks/meters & potential vendetta erupting against Herb Chambers
So this is the beginning of my story. Me and GdawgA4 were playing a friendly game of poker tonight (he won). I had parked my C5 in front of Herb Chambers Infiniti on Comm Ave. in brighton. around 6:30 in front of a parking meter that was expired, but promptly confirmed that this exact meter would be free of charge after 6pm in the city. I come back from the poker game, already in confusion over my losses (a big 10$) and find that i can't find my car. I look around thinking, "I didnt drink tonight, I think i parked it here....F**K". Did someone steal my baby? It started to just anger me more to think either i was going nuts misplacing my car, or someone had taken it. After coming to my senses i called Gdawg and said we need to goto the police dept to check out where the F** my car was. Seems Herb Chambers Infiniti management decided to say "Oh this car is LEGALLY parked here in our mock ramp/showroom entrance, lets NOT give him a parking ticket, but instead tow his car. They neglected to even acknowledge the fact that there was a working meter right there as well. After about 1 1/2 hours of trouble of tracking down the car and checking to see if any damage occurred, i was reunited with my loved one.
With a 110$ Towing Fee.
I'm currently writing a very angry letter to the metro boston police and Herb Chambers as well, demanding my money back and maybe then some to check and see if any quattro damage. They managed to make me and my buddy's night a fun one. I'll keep you guys posted with pictures soon and a verdict of my gradual climb to the top of the chain until i get my money back and make some poor guy/girl's (who receives me in reception or over the phone ) day one to remember, for i plan to cause ear damage with my obscenities and remarks.
btw gdawg thanks again for driving me around town to get my car back from the impound.

Off topic?
They cant give you a ticket as a car dealership. That is probably why they had you towed, was the meter at the front or rear of your car. Your writing a letter to the boston police? ill bet they have the time to worry about some complaint about having their car towed. It is the Boston Transportation Department that would take care of that...FYI they wouldnt give a Sh either.

It seemed like it was an officer who called in for the towing. Wasn't BTD, private tow company...
see the pictures and decide, was it a legal spot? I'm pretty sure it is, there's a meter there (where the Lexus is now parked in Jimmy's spot). However, there is a small "ramp" or "driveway" as the officer who called in for the tow said.
If they want a driveway there for cars to the showroom, don't put a meter there for cars to park at!!

If my experience with the Allston/Brighton police is any guide...
then they will have no interest in this. My old car was broken into in Allston back in 2001, an obvious attempted vehicle theft with $2k of damage, and you would think I walked into the station to complain about a jaywalking in progress. They could not have been less interested...
I live in Arlington now. According to the police blotter, cops here are regularly dispatched to handle complaints of trespassing squirrels

the desk officer didn't seem to care very much...grumbling his words and whatnot. I just rolled
my eyes at him when he was trying to get information from Jimmy. Didn't even seem like he wanted to be there (which I'm sure he didn't). I think we were interrupting his Law and Order episode he was watching.
