Default i have a question regarding the old school mass plate ...

my friend has an old BMW 2000cs that has those old white/green plates on it. last registration date was back in 1987, at least thats what the sticker on the plate says.

is there a way i can get the plate from him and register that plate on my car?

is it true that the old green plates only need to be mounted on rear and not on the front?

if you guys dont know, the old school plates are awesome b/c of rarity sake. this plate in particular is in new condition.

Default Re:

The DMV will give you trouble about changing the plate to another car. They are trying to get them off of the road.

But a friend of mine has done it in the same situation that you are describing.

I have a green plate and love it. B/c No need for a front plate.

Default in family? i got the green plate as well and yeah only on the back...matches with my racing green!

Family transfers yes, or maybe if u buy the old 2002. I would have done this in the early 1990s, but with vanity plates it is rare to see green ones. I made a change in 93, so red is what I'm stuck with now.

I recently transferred one from one car to another (I own both), but I was told that I might not be able to do it again, as the RMV is trying to get rid of the old ones through attrition.
Since you don't already own the BMW, I think your chances are nil... sorry.
