Inskip - 0 for 2 in 2 days
I brought my S4 in on Saturday for an oil change. I know, that was my first mistake. After about 20 mins the guy comes out and asks me if I want synthetic oil. OK, 0 for 1.
My fiance brought her BWM in today(it is under warranty) for scheduled service. They called her and told her she needs 2 new front tires and an alignment, which is not covered under warranty. They proceed to tell her she has to buy BMW tires (not sure what that is) so she will have to have the work done there for a little over $500 dollars. Now they are 0 for 2.
Just thought I would share.

Agreed for my car but..
I am not going to pay to have my fiances car serviced when it's under warranty. My post was more to highlight the typical dealer BS in trying to get more money out of someone by making false statements.

yeah for tires the dealer is always pretty steep
I had my gf order a tire from tire rack and find a local installer for install....she was pretty impressed by how much cheaper it was even for just one tire to go that route. And she was able to get an OEM tire which many of the tire shops didn't even have.

this is an important point
Many cars come equipped with factory tires that aren't commonly available. often they are slightly different versions of tires that a tire shop will have on the shelf...but if you want all four to match, you'll either have to go through the dealer or someone with a huge inventory (ie tirerack). This is what I would assume they meant. That said, they could have explained it better.
As far as the synthetic oil, you would not believe how many customers complain about the added cost if they are not asked first. Many times they'll refuse the additional cost even if the car calls for synthetic. I don't think it's unreasonable to ask what type of oil you'd prefer.
Anyway, I work for Inskip (although not for BMW or Audi), so I'll relay these concerns to the appropriate parties.
