Lidar in Mass?

Lidar in Mass?
I have two friends who have been hit with lidar in the last 2 weeks by MASP. Both have V1's though we all know detectors can't compete with the speed of light. Both are pretty mature drivers who drive basic silver and black A4's with no mods or 9 foot wings.
Have a lot of you seen lidar in use in Mass?
I don't often speed but with the new insurance rules(7 years to clear a ticket I think) I am starting to think a blinder might be a worthwile financial investment. I drive 25-20k mikes a year which means there are a lot of opportunites for me to find a speed trap. I drive to VT every weekend for skiing which averages 6-8 speed traps each way on every trip. I drive to the cape every weekend in the summer which is usually 2-3 traps per round trip.
I would like to keep my 99 safe driver insurance rating (no tickets since high school) but it seems like there is a concerted effort among the state, law enforcement and insurance companies to cost me money. I know there are interest groups who live and breathe this stuff but I wanted to get input from the crew here that takes a more sane approach.
Is it time to invest in a blinder type product? Who has? What say you?
I might organize a group buy for a laser system since I know of two buyers already. I might also get one.

If by lidar you mean laser, then yes...all over Rt3 in the Billerica area.
I've see them every 4th or 5th trip up that lame road. It's usually two troopers standing in the median, an exit or two north of where it ends at 128.

Weird.
I guess I never drive the pike so I dont see it there. I rarely see it on 128. All the NH and VT troopers and locals I see driving to killington have their radar on. (At least my V1 isn't sounding the laser alarm)

Its been used for a while now. Mainly State cops but a few towns have them too such as
Framingham I know of. I've never seen a trooper on 128 using laser but I don't travel that as much as the Pike. Most troopers who run speed traps on the Pike park their cruisers perpendicular to the road and sit there shooting cars with laser.
