Lookin for a good shop south of boston
I live in Walpole, MA. and I am looking for a good shop/mechanic for my 00 A6 Avant. Do you have any reccomendations?
Nothing is wrong right now, but at 95K miles, I fear trouble is around the corner.
Thanks in advance!

RE: Shine - Dick still knows more about VW's + Audi's than this board will forget in a lifetime, but
That said, Jim, the shop manager who took over from Eli is, well, not cool, and they've jacked their shop rates way up and now charge $100 diagnostic fees for issues that you have already correctly diagnosed, etc. I used Shine Racing exclusively for 10 years on both my VW's and Audis, but I've moved on to three other shops depending on the fix or service needed:
Dentsport, Norwood: Talk to Alex, great guy, though not particularly fluent in Audi. They are focused on the rally and hillclimb scene, thus they own and tune Subies and Mitsu's. They are great mechanics though and very cool to work with. I'm sorry for those who question their dyno numbers, but maybe you're not really making the power you thought you were ;-)
GPS (German Performance Service), Cambridge: Marc Feinstein, used to be with Turner Motorsport. Just a very good mechanic and a very good guy. While his background and primary focus is BMW and Porsche, he's completely capable of doing most service work on Audi's.
Brian's Garage, Needham: I know, everybody has a grumpy Brian story, but he knows Audi's better than any dealer tech in the city, so if you've got an OEM problem, want it replaced with OEM parts and don't want to get reamed by a dealer, he's worth a try. No, you won't want to hang out and talk, and he doesn't want you to either, but he will get your car fixed correctly and for an honest rate. (just don't ask him what "mods" he'd recommend)

Several times.
Depends on what you want done. Both owners run time trials with COM, as do I. I personally find loose nuts and bolts after ANY shop works on my cars, and DSG is no different. That's why I try to do most of my own work in my garage. They're good guys and have massive fabrication abilities, as well as an in-house dyno. Can't hurt to call and talk to Alex. Tell them Cy (with the Galant VR4) sent you.
