OT Golf warning: Had a blast golfing in Hilton Head this week...
Finally got out Monday, after numerous cancellations due to the snow storm. Got to Logan at 10AM, finally got on a plane to Atlanta after 5PM, and arrived at Hilton Head at 1AM...better late than never. The 3 of us who made it in on Monday played Tuesday AM, while the rest of the group joined us for our first "tournament" round in the afternoon.
We played at Sea Pines (Harbour Town, Ocean Course, and Heron Point), and Arthur Hills at Palmetto Dunes. After the week was over, the US team beat the Europeans 7-3. I am happy to report that I went 3-1-0 after losing my first Fourball match 5-and-4, but winning the next two Fourball matches 3-and-1, and winning my singles match 3-and-1. We all decided that we were having too much fun for a Foursomes (alternatesshot) round. Maybe next time.
The weather was so-so. Never really got warm until the last day (in the 60's) and frost delay every morning. Oh well.
The best part of the weekend was finally realizing who my opponents were...celebrities from the international soccer scene, including ESPN's play-by-play guy Derek Rae and right-winger Robbie Mustoe!!! I do not follow soccer, so I did not know who they were (other than they are friends of friends). They were all nice normal guys who enjoyed the golf, the dinners out, etc.
The US team prevailed, and won the Inaugural Atlantic Cup. We get to defend it next year, maybe in Orlando. We'll see. If they win next year, maybe I can finally get to Scotland for some golf!!!

...and what do you mean by "another" golf vacation? I haven't gone on one for a few years...
...the last golf trip was Pebble Beach back in 2004.
