Default Problems with my winter setup...

I had my winter rims and tires put on my car today. This is their third season. For some reason, they are riding extremely rough and loud. What could be the cause compared to the smoothness of last season? They were balanced last season- could the balance have gone out of wack since they were taken off in the spring??

Default How did you store them?

Perhaps the way in which the tires/wheels were stored damaged the tires?

Default Which brand tire? They are probably worn... Are you hitting the tread depth indicators?

Snow tire depth indicators are usually deeper for winter tires than summer tires.

Also, some snow tires have an all season tire compound under the snow tire compound. I'm not sure if that would make a difference in sound though?

fwiw, I'm on my 4th winter with the LM-22's & 3rd with Graspic DS-1's and there is still plenty of tread and they are also quiet.

Default *HORRIBLE UPDATE*

so after i wrote this original post i noticed there was this grinding, rubbbing of metal sound developing. i took it to the closest tire shop to ask them to look at it to see if it was safe to drive.

the looked at it and when they pulled the front passenger wheel off, the wheel, bolts, hub, and bearing were all stripped.

it appears that the original shop didn't tighten it enough and the wheel came loose as i was driving it, thus the stripping of everything.

after arguing with the guy over the phone to pay for it and stop blaming me and saying it's because i have spacers, they are now paying for the parts, labor and even the wheel. i couldn't squeeze a rental out of him which sucks.

anyway, i just had to express order new bolts from evolution rush delivery since the other ones are completely stripped.

i won't be able to get my car back until saturday because of the parts availability.

this sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! everyone is incompetant.
