Default Rim & Wheel Works FTW

I noticed my front right tire seemed low on Thursday, added air and then noticed it down again today. I stopped by Direct Tire (where I got the tires) to see if maybe I had a nail. Turns out the wheel was bent (fvcking potholes!).

I called Rim & Wheel Works at about 3:30 today and they said they'd squeeze me in even though they close at 4:30.

Good to know there are good local shops!

Default Pay attention and DODGE the holes next time ;^)

Your racecar's suspension will get trashed if you don't pay 100% attention driving to and from events this season.

Default Not to jack this thread, but here's a bit of Miata news. Please pardon my excitement.

After a conversation with DWW yesterday, I have a verbal contract to purchase an SSB Miata. WooT!

Default NICE!

Which vehicles are you getting rid of at home?

Osamah is selling both his SMs btw. Are you grabbing one of his?

If you'll be out at Dave's on a Sunday soon, let me know and I'll come visit. I'm replacing my shocks this morning...

Default Getting rid of? Um, no. lol

Just packin' 'em in.

The car is in CT. Dave knows the car and gave me the feedback and encouragement to do it. We have a tentative agreement that I will pick it up on Saturday.

My current Miata will returned to street duty. The 1981 Scirocco will be sold as soon as the weather warms enough to clean it up.

I have a pic of the Miata, but I don't want to post it and jinx the deal. I have no deposit, just a verbal agreement to buy it based on a phone call. I'm not concerned that he will back out, but I don't want to tempt the Miata gods.

I'm not happy about spending the money, but we all know that I'm at the point where I'm going to either get hurt or break something expensive if I stay with the current ride. SSB is stock suspension, so that's a step back, but the car is solid and well built. I'll need to do something a little more HPDE friendly than the open exhaust, and I need to install a passenger seat and belts.

Default Hey, I can quit any time I want to. Besides, no problem as long they all fit in the garage. ;-)

Although I must admit that I was down at the shop today with a tape measure trying to figure out where to put everything.

I think I have room for one.....more.....car....

Default Just get the SM suspension kit and be done with it.

It's around $1100 and consists of H&R springs (700F, 350R), Bilstein shocks and Eibach front and rear swaybars.

I'm not sure if we're talking about the same Dave here. My Dave just talked me into doing the SCCA licensing school at Summit Point at the end of the month.

Good thing about Miatas - small footprint!
