I kept trying to drop subtle hints to the wife...
(me) wow, look at that, isn't that car gorgeous?
(her) you're not buying one.
I guess she knows me to well now!
that car is just too sexy in white, does anyone know if cars seats will fit in the back??

People have been able to get car seats in them, its nice once you're back there..
Here's a very recent discussion from the A5 forum about the same very issue. It seems possible but only for two kids.
Surprisingly, the back seat is actually comfortable - even for me at 6'. My hair does touch the headliner though.
It's such a great car in every aspect. (looks performance and fun!) Luckily for me, I don't have children... Or a wife
If you're ever in Boston feel free to try to get a child seat in the back of my car, or I imagine a dealer will have an A5 where you could try it.

Transporting children in the S5.

Thanks for the offer Ros, if I'm ever close to purchasing one I'll take you up on it...
if I were to buy one it would have to be an automatic though so that my wife would be able to use it if she had to!
we'll see, I'm not planning on buying anything anytime soon but that is liable to change at the drop of a hat.
