seems like many of you have gone out west for skiing lately, next week is my turn :) some advice?
I'm spending 5 days in Utah next week and I haven't been there in about a decade. My brother lived in Crested Butte and Aspen up until three years ago so it was easy to visit there.
My question:
I'm staying at a friends place just South of Salt Late and a couple of my buddies and I all ski so we're not restricted by any snowboarding rules
Of the mountains nearby :
Alta, snowbird, Deer Valley, Solitude, the Canyons... Which would be best for 40+ degree sunny weather and what areas of each would be best for those for those conditions (according to the forecast.)
To note, I look forward to doing some hiking to find some fresh pow. Aside from cliffs there's nothing I won't do. I'm on tele skis so bumps aren't my true favorite, but if they're soft and spread out I can manage.
As far as audi content goes I just wish I could have my car out there. For all I know we'll probably rent some trailblazer or equivalent...
Thanks for the hints guys..
Also-- For those of you considering going out west, there's a delta flight direct into salt lake from Boston that should allow you to manage a half day when you arrive(scheduled arrival at 10AM, and another that departs Salt lake just after 5, arriving in Boston before midnight.. pretty good deal if you only want to ski.

Park City (last I knew)
has a deal, where if you go there, and show them your delta pass, from that day, you can ski the rest of the day for free.
Park City and Alta are my fav's for out there.

I think it's $15 for initial bag, $25 for your second. "free" tickets with mileage, so I'm happy.
Apparently skis are not an extra charge. There is however a very expensive charge for bags >50lbs.

park city is over rated IMHO. We spent a couple days at snow basin, then to powder mtn
Did the free day at canyons since we flew in early. Did the powder safari at powder mtn using their snow cats in the back country and a day with the wassatch powder guides in the backcountry in the northern part of the range. It was awesome. The last day we hit solitude.
Vail, breck & copper were 2 weeks ago. it was ok. But not as good as Utah in January was.
