external forces forced change down the line.
New owners who only deal with vB...
Think about it this way:
big company, uses Microsoft Exchange for email
buys small company that uses sendmail (old SysOps will get the comparison here)
Now, do you keep that ONE sendmail server which is old and antiquated, or do you get EVERYONE on the same server, which necessitates less manpower?
Most big companies will just dump the sendmail server and get everyone on exchange, rather than dealing with two systems (even if the end users preferred sendmail)
And, in the eyes of most people, vB 'Looks cooler' then KAWF. It allows for more 'ease of use' because most people are used to vB-style forums now a days.
It's Eternal September for AudiWorld, that's all (again, old SysOps will get that reference too)
god, I'm dork.

the people who are legitimately LEAVING because of the format change, bothers me..
Weren't you here for the people and the content?
the content is still here (more or less)
the people SHOULD still be here.
Forum layout/software is the last of my worries for forums. It's the people

yeah, I mean this switchover was obviously done with corporate intentions.
I personally prefer this style, but when converting from old to new... problems always arise
I just finished an Exchange 2003 > 2007 switchover and I'm running into a multitude of issues.
