Default If front plates are so important...

how come motorcyles don't have them? A bracket could be made.

Default Never said they are important, but they are a fact of life in most states.....

Pick your battles. This shouldn't be one of them. Do they look good? Hell no!! But it is not SO bad in my opinion. Especially on a car with a relatively blunt front end, and especially when you dress it up a little.

Default Problem is, aside from aesthetics, if you have a front plate it is MUCH easier to get a laser/radar

reading. If you don't have a front plate it can and does take a bit longer to get a speed reading, which is usually the difference between getting a ticket and not (assuming you have some sort of detector/jammer). So in running a front plate, you're more likely to get a speeding ticket.

$50 ticket (in CT)> than a speeding ticket. Problem is, in MA a front plate ticket is also a moving violation (now that's a freakin load of **** if you ask me).

Default If you copped an attitude, but prepared to be bent over. If you were nice, showing that...

...the problem is corrected is usually enough. The question is whether or not they will make you drive to court to show your proof.

Default So was it an end of the on the month stakeout that got ya?

I see them all the time, especially where traffic slows from 2lanes down to one, around bends near traffic lites.

He really read you the riot act for all that trivial BS, or did you drive in a way that got you pulled over? (deservedly?)

And yes, I have read true stories where NJ drivers got cited in NY for no front plate... pretty lame, but still fightable if you travel out of your home state to NH.

Default I can confirm $150 for no front plate

Just last week in my small NH town I was stopped for that. Not to mention that he happened to watch me pull up to a stop sign, then hit it - 0 to 52 before I backed off (30 mph zone).

Long story short - I left with a warning and a big smile. And he specifically said my missing front plate would have cost $150 had he decided to write me up.
