Default So a tuning shop is trying to buy this car I want...

I'm just getting into Audi's and I found this awesome fixer upper to buy. I've been in contact with the seller for awhile and now all of a sudden there is a tuning shop that wants to buy the car I was about to close on. Most likely they will give it a tune-up and fresh coat of paint and sell it to some dumb *** teenager for a bundle of money. WTF!

Default Oh, I have been hounding this guy...

Telling him I can show up with cash and drive it away, asking for test drives...he just keeps avoiding the subject. I have a feeling he wants the tuner to buy it a little over his asking. You can't blame the guy for trying to get some value, but I would want my car to go someplace nice, not some tuner/dealer trying to pass a buck.

Default No tuning shop is interested in that

He's probably just trying to invent a story to use to try and pressure you into buying at a higher price.

agreed. No tuner wants the 2.8, they all want the 1.8T.

Default idk, I looked into this "Tuning Shop" and...

They buy old cars and do some engine swaps, fresh coats of paint, little cosmetic stuff and resell these older cars. They also have a separate part of their business that does actual modifications to customer's cars.

Default They still wouldn't want a 12V

The guy is just trying to jerk you around. Make an offer you feel comfortable with and walk if he doesn't take it.

Default They just sold a 1995 Jetta 2.8L VR6 on their webiste...they have no morals

These guys are selling any and all VW/Audi's it seems they are not picky at all about what they can get a buck for.
