Default Some pictures from the BMW event July 6+7 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

The event was similar to the Audi one I went to may in May, but certainly more people. Weather was great, and a great group of people.

I was driving the green Elise, which compared to my S5 is certainly much lighter, but with the small four cylinder one is required to always be in the correct gear. In the S5 i found i could take advantage of the huge torque band in didn't have to shift as much.

There were some neat cars there, lots of E36 M3s (one even crashed), 6 lotus Elises lots of Porsches and a nice Gallardo.

If you've never done a track event you're truly missing out.. regardless of your car you will have a blast. You learn a great deal about driving dynamics that you simply can't learn on the street and the instructors are from what i gather - all good people. I've had good luck with mine.

Default Sweet deal! whens the next one? how much? I would love to get to one of these track events sometime

soon. I think it would help out a ton and be fun. New car with tracksports will be a lot better than my old stock.
what's with the blue stripes on the lambo?

Default Sweet car, so jealous

I drove one a few years back with the sport suspension and stage II exhaust, I'm sure it's even more fun on the track.

Default Actually, i took one picture of a BMW... and people say they handle better than Audis?

Sad it happened, i talked to the drive the first day and he was a nice guy. Apparently his throttle stuck. Nobody was injured.

Default They do handle better than Audis on a track.

And are generally a faster group of cars overall at track days. The Audi club is by far the slowest group I do events with, which just helps my ego because I can actually catch and pass cars with 3x the horsepower of my little Miata.

Default good job, I'm sure you're a great driver. I was being facetious. In this case

It seems as if this BMW did not handle well, notice it could not stay on the track and ran into a wall of tires.

Of course many other BMWs at the event were very quick. Although, a cars ability to round a track quickly is not enough for me to buy the car.

Default Yeah, if I based my street car buying on track performance, I'd drive something different...

to me, a street car, ANY street car, is a pig on the track.
