Somebody else's misfortune is my gain...
For a month or two I've had a set of S6 door blades and an RS6 spoiler I've been waiting to put on my car. Wanted to get a bunch of other touch up work done before I got to that so it hasn't happened yet. Here's where I get lucky...
About 100 yards from where I live in Southborough, MA there is a pretty good body shop. I've been talking with them about getting this work done but haven't pulled the trigger yet. Last night when I was driving by the place I noticed a cashmere grey A6 out front. I stop to take a look at it and see why it's there. The rear end is pretty seriously biffed. Hmmm...
I swing by today and talk to the owner of the shop who I've gotten to know. I ask him how much he'll charge me to paint the door blades and the spoiler "while he's got his spray gun loaded with the right color." He points out that there may be variants of the color, but I learned from working with one of the other guys who work there that there is only one. He looks at the parts and tells me to drop things off at the end of next week (the poor other car needs to get some framework done). "How much?" I ask. "$75" he says.
Big smile. Should be on the car in time for the next GTG.
Look out BD, I'm gunning for you on "curb appeal!" 8^)
