Default Yikes, it's scary how little attention some people can pay to their car

On the way to work, I saw a new-ish BMW 3 series in front of me suffer massive cooling system failure while stopped at the light a few cars ahead of me.

I'm talking full on 10 foot high cloud of white smoke totally engulfing the car; there is NO WAY that the driver (or anyone else within a half mile) could miss that something was *very* wrong with the car.

So what does the driver do? Why, drive off as if nothing had happened naturally. I could see the trail of fluid following the car all the way across Watertown square... I wonder how far they got before it melted? ;-)

Couldn't see; I was about 5-6 cars behind them at the intersection.

Default those cars get expensive quick if you run them while overheated

i've seen the entire engine filled with plastic goo - the remains of the overflow tank, fittings, etc. usually they blow off the overflow tank first, blow out a lot of coolant, then start melting whatever is left. if you keep running it, you get interesting engine noises that don't ever go away.

Default It really is insane. I've had to tell two people in the past few months that they had a nearly FLAT

tire before getting in the car. About a week ago, we all went to pile into my gf's friend's car, I noticed one of her tires looked low. It was at 14 PSI!!!! She way like yea, "I've been meaning to get more air in it."

****ing idiots like that that have a blowout on the hwy and cause a massive accident.

Default I tell people that all the time, whenever I'm on the highway I can see cars leaning with no pressure

They always appreciate the advice though, as if its the dealers fault or something. I'm sure some people don't have compressors or even a bike pump if god forbid, they do some 'work' on their own cars.

Air at gas stations should be free.
