A6C6 2.7TDI V6 INTERMITTENT TAPPING SOUND
I have noticed recently that my a6 has started to make a strange tapping sound mostly around 1500rpm but very intermittent. This noise is not there on start up and sometimes does it when it's at all different temperatures Then when I notice the noise (which is loud enough to hear in the cabin with the windows up ) I try to get it to happen again but can't ??. The noise to me sounds like it's coming from the left side of the engine (sitting in cabin ). This has a multitronic box. Hoping its not a chain guide ir tensioner. Any help would be great.. Cheers
