Audi Q3 power steering failure and recalls
I have a Q3 and yesterday my power steering failed. I have a 2015 Q3 with 19,000 kms on it. I talked to the dealership and they said there is not much they can do as the recall has not been done for the Q3. I was told that it is an expensive part to replace and the part that is available is the same that should have been recalled. I was also told that they have had 10 complaints in 2018 of Q3s already with power steering light coming on and loss of power steering due to sensor condensation building up in cold temperatures. That’s quite a few considering it is a small dealership. Now I have a heated garage and it’s fine now but it was scary driving it without power steering as I felt I had little control of where the vehicle was heading. On the other hand why should I replace the faulty part with another part that is going to be recalled? I hope Audi is going to address this issue soon firstly to prevent horrible accidents and secondly they would save themselves and their customers money to have the same issue fixed twice, as I was told that the part number is still exactly the same.
