Default Hi all. Looking at possibly buying an a4.

I don't seem to be able to post on the a4 forum at present. Maybe it's because I have just registered.
So hello from me.

I will be after some advise on what to look out for, i have my eyes on an 08 2.0t avant quattro tfsi with 98k. I thought these were cambelts but the guy said it's a chain.

Are these like BMW that although are lifetime chains, you need to replace it at some point? What do i need to look out for?

OK, so he's correct, in the UK you're looking at the Audi B8 with a timing chain. In the USA, 2008 was the last year for the Audi B7 which is fitted with the rubber cam belt.

I'll tell you, if you spend some time reading about the 4 cylinder petrol 2.0L B8 cars, you'll likely seek something else to buy. Loads of issues/future concerns.

That doesn't sound good. I thought the 2l turbo was a good engine?

Vaux, it is and it isn't. Do some reading. In fact, do a lot of reading and you'll be able to form your own opinion.
