New and looking into buying an Audi

Hello everyone, First post on the form~

I am in the market to buy a new car. Audi has been one of my favor brand and I would like to take some suggestions from you guys what model and what trim of Audi i should get.

My budget is around 40k, and here is my choices. Used B8/8.5 S4/ new S3/ A4/A5.

The use for this car is to commute to work everyday. I drive around 60 miles a day 5 days a week. And i live in Boston area where awd is a must.

Thanks
Allen

I would go for a new Audi. With 40K you should be able to get either S3 A4 or A5. Depending on package of course. If you go for the A4, wait until 2017.

Hello and welcome to the forum!

I would recommend aiming for a base 2017 A4. The S3 already starts at $42k. By the time it is fully configured, it will be closer to $50k. A base 2017 A4 only starts at $37k. I just configured a base AWD model in the Audi USA website. With the NAV and Convenience Package and AWD, I ended up with $44k. If you join ACNA, you get a 6% discount off MSRP. That brings the price down to around $41k. If you haggle a bit, you may be able to bring it down closer to $40k. Nice brand new car that will be within your budget.

A good used S4 is also nice. However, it is best to buy it if it comes with Audi CPO. You want to be covered from expensive repair bills. A lot of S4 owners modify their cars and put them back to stock when they get rid of them. Some owners do a good job, some do a ****ty job and pass the headache on to the next owner. You will want to be protected. Otherwise, have your Audi mechanic inspect a candidate vehicle before you decide to purchase it. It does take a bit of work to find the right car but a used CPO S4 is certainly an option.
