Sunroof wont open or close/ or go up or down

Sunroof wont open or close/ or go up or down
I have a 2011 audi4 sedan.
I open my sun roof the other day, but then it wouldn't close.
I could here the motor turning it sounded smooth.
tried to close it manually but that didn't work.
I lightly tapped it on the edges with a rubber mallet to see if I could break it free, because I could budget it by hand.
slowly was able to bring it forward to close it, just by working it back and forth with my hands.
I wondering anyone can give me a starting point on where to trouble shoot.
prior to closing the sunroof.
I turned the switch, motor seems to work fine, but I looked at the rails. and there is absolutely, no movement of anything, no cables no, no twisting of the rods.
I also need to know how it operates.

Second, when's the last time you lubed the rails on the sunroof? If never, then that could be a cause of the issue, or the motor could be fried....but as a start look and use the SEARCH on the B8 A4 subforum. good luck
