NAPA VALLEY G2G!

EDIT: So we have decided on a date. I am currently x-posting this thread around AW's model forums. Please respond asap if you are coming. A few of us will be looking for hotel accomodation, group rates, etc.; but since g2g turnouts like these are very unpredictable, please be prepared with your own reservations, etc. In the meantime, email me and let me know you would like to be on the list, your liklihood of attending, etc. Thanks.

When would you guys like to have this meet? I'm thinking we'll make a weekend out of it in Napa; around mid-Fall sound good to you guys?

There are some guys that have told me they want to fly out from the east coast for this, so we'd have to settle on a date and then plan from there.

Also, I have a "Sideways" email list going, so if you'd like to be included in that, please respond with your addies.

TIA

Ideas and suggestions

are appreciated!

Default Swanson, Stag's Leap and Pine Ridge mandatory. Lunch on patio at Brix, dinner's at Bistro Jeanty...

...and the Martini House also recommended. Challenge for this one will be a "core" place to stay for your primary group. Last minute strags could always find one-offs if they had to, but you all need a compound to take over. ; )

Default Add'l: Swanson is by appt. only, for small groups (8, I believe), and very tough to get into....

..way advance required. May not be an option depending on size of your group, or you'll have to stagger in waves. $55.00 a tasting (these are sit-down privates with senior staff, and include various cheeses/bon bons, etc....really like no other), but still well worth the POA (If you're flying out here from the Leftist Coast, this shouldn't be a problem). Also, one place you might want to look into re. mass booking is the Napa Valley Lodge (not sure what $ point you're trying to hit here). Never stayed there, but have cocktailed in their "private" little bar on numerous occasions....feedback from the guests (drunkin' wedding party girls and their dates) has always been positive. This is a place you guys could pretty much own, and probably get a decent group rate if everyone agrees to stay in a semi-upscale, centralized location. Default Thanks. I'm really up for anything. Never been, but open to it all. For those who're interested,

I'd like to hear their feedback as to what they want to spend, what location, etc.

I'm going to start researching the places, events, etc once we settle on a date. Sound good?

Default Poser tourist-anchor LT? I was going there 15 years ago when it actually wasn't a T trap....

...I kid...well, sort of. I like the LT (for lunch or pre-din), but if I'm getting on a plane and flying out here from BF, I'd want the real deal. A GH visit is a good idea, though. ; )

Default Yo' Sia, a "east coast guy here" * count me in *, I can fly out there from 10/19 to 10/23 ...

have some other oenophile/saveur guys here in NC whose interested in joining in as well. I have four 'euro fellas so far... (actually, I was discussing this with my buddy just now ^_^ before hitting up this thread)

if someone has a hookup, let's get a dinner table at French Laundry in Yountville. If dinner does not work, lunch at least. would like to make it worthwhile for my 'euro buddies as well.

I think we should settle on a date first, since non-CA folks need to reserve a flight. Then we should plan an itinerary that includes Napa and Sonoma Valleys.

if you need help planning and etc., I'll be glad to lend a helping hand.

btw, do you have my e-mail?

cheers <img src="http://www.audizine.com/forum/images/smilies/race.gif">
