about to clunk my 2001 S4
I'm about to junk my S4 with the cash for clunkers program tomorrow.
I think I'll pull the nav and cd changer if it's not too difficult.
The tires are Michelin Pilot Sports with only maybe 3-4K miles on them.
Wheels have the usual scratches that one might anticipate for a 9 year
old car.
The car itself has enough problems that I'm not willing to put anything more into it. The passenger side warm up cat is failed (not the o2 sensor) and some other emmission control valve shows a code. It just started emitting a horrific hydrogen sulfide smell from the engine. The transmission has died once but has been overhauled and appears ok. Upper control arms need replacing. Headlight levelers don't work. Either the battery is going bad or I may have a real charging issue not sure which since I basically have to jump start it every other time.
I'd be willing to salvage the airbags I guess only if I could be certain that they would not be passed of on an unwitting fix up as new.
Anybody want to give me a few dollars for the nearly new tires/rim? It would have to be a swap as I need to be able to drive. I can give away
the spare. I'm fine with swapping seats if anybody wants black s4 seats. Driver side seat heater is flaky.
Alternatively, I'm fine with selling the car for $5K but be forewarned that it seems to have a crap load of problems. On the other hand, it's never been wrecked. It's pearl white tiptronic with $121K miles.
Let me know quickly if you have any interest, else the car is going the in junk bin.
regards.
