Default Recently bought a new digital back, 33million pixel state of the art thing.

Two and half weeks ago went on location and took the G5, fired it up, plugged in the 800 firewire and connected to the new back. Warning beeps started in the back and refused to be tethered to the computer, had to shoot to Compact Flash cards. The G5 firewire ports were fried as well as the port in the digital back. The back got overnighted and repaired in 24 hours. The G5 has been in the Apple repair system for two weeks and no one can tell me why it can't be fixed (and I've spoken to a sh!tload of people). Parts take days and days to get there, they don't even know if the parts they order are working right, etc. Ended up buying a new MacBook Pro so I could continue to work, my old PowerBook's system weren't up to snuff for the new digital back requirements.

http://www.leaf-photography.com/pages/products/Aptus75s.aspx</a

Default Why on earth would you pay for that thing. It does nothing any smartphone can't do

Except random access voicemail, that's the only cool thing.

But seriously, $700? Just wait 6 months for it to drop.

A rule of technology says never buy 1.0 products. Plus CDMA > GSM.
