Are you trying to use corded cell phone handsfree headset on your iPhone?
Corded cell phone handsfree are 2.5mm mono audio+mic (skinnier 3 electrical contacts), while iPhone is 3.5mm stereo audio+mic (thicker 4 electrical contacts). I went down this path when I first got my iPhone. If this is your case, what you need is:
- 2.5mm female to 3.5mm male. (Tho I'm uncertain of the positions of all the electrical contact standards on these plugs, and how they inter-play). (3.5mm FEMALE to 2.5mm MALE are more common, and Central Computing has it. Alas that is the wrong gender) I haven't been able to find this either and gave up to BlueTooth. good luck |
sorry, i attached a picture of what is needed

You obviously know where to get it.. why not just pay the $7 + shipping?
Or even monoprice.com has them...<ul><li><a href="http://www.monoprice.com/products/subdepartment.asp?c_id=104&cp_id=10401">http://www.monoprice.com/products/subdepartment.asp?c_id=104&cp_id=10401</a</li></ul>

Stereo audio only adapters exist. Audio + Mic? Ugh.. good luck with that one.
But BT is little better for driving anyways.
