New to the area...

Hey all - longtime AW lurker who is in the process of relocating to the Sunnyvale area.

Looking for a recommendation for a local independent shop to do a little pre-smog inspection work on my B5S4, including:
- EGT sensors
- O2 sensors
- MAF cleaning
Any other suggested items to look at?
I'm hoping to also be putting a coil-over suspension on during the same appoitment.

I've already contacted the Stasis guys and they're wrapped up doing development work right now.

TIA for the help.
Look forward to meeting everyone soon.

JC

Griffin Motorwerke in Berkeley is my shop of choice

Streetwerke in Palo Alto gets my recommendation, especially given it's close to you.

034 Motorsports in Frement is another great shop. - ask for Dan.

Unless you have a check engine light or a severely neglected car...

...I doubt you need to spend the money to have it checked over. If you're worried you won't pass, ask the smog shop to do a pre-test first. It's cheaper and no data will be sent to the gov.

imperial auto in cupertino - salvador and david run a fine shop, but just gen maintenance.

portola garage - in portola valley.

also second on 034 and griffin motorwerke both are worth the drive.

a little south is house of dubs, and that shop josh(ex-streetwerke) went to.

Thanks for the recommendations

The work being done is more along the lines of some overdue maintenance than smog testing (I'm getting the boost hesitations that are apparently indicative of bad EGT's and the O2's have never been done) but I figured given the inevitable smog test, I might as well get everything done at once.

I'm in the same town. Griffin, Streetwerke, and Dynospot Racing have been good to me

Dynospot is near my office in downtown San Jose and they're good for standard stuff that's not VAG-specific and they are very good about "I need it now" kind of stuff.

Usually I go to Streetwerke. Aaron and all the other techs do great work.

Griffin is good, but too far for me without taking a day off work.
