No front plate in SF = $100!
I put my europlate on my car a month ago and have been parking off city streets. Today, in North Beach I park outside at a meter and I get popped for VC5200 NO FRONT PLATE. Weak. It states that its $100, but its a fix-it ticket. I'll have to put the front plate back on, get the ticket signed off, and pay a $10 filing fee.
Question: can I get a larger fine for putting the europlate back on? I imagine that I'll get nailed with another $100 fix-it ticket, but who knows. Anyone here? |
WOW!!!!!!!!!1 usually they only give those if you get pulled over....
but i have heard people getting htem when parked

Palo Alto did the something to me. Lucky we have a cop in the family to sign off.

I was in Old Sac a while back and was pulled over just because of no front plate. It was a $10.00
fix it. But I lost track of the due date and the late fee was $250.00. One day late or 1 week late-flat $250.00 late charge. I wasn't too happy. Especially since if I had just paid the non fix it price it would have been $229.00. Since my front bumper is already a mess needing replacement, I just velcro'd the plate on.

I got one in Walnut Creek, Only $25

Yup, be careful in SF. They even give them when you're parked....
|
Palo Alto gave you a $100 ticket + $10 if you fixed it?
Yikes! I live in PA and have been driving around since 1996 w/o a plate. Been lucky so far, but I hear they're getting stricter.

Ahh the joys of parking in SF...
Sorry to hear that you got the No Front Plate ticket. That's how it's getting up here, have to make up the budget shortfalls. ;)
I think you will just get another ticket if you park on the street when DPT comes around. I don't think the fine goes up... |
$100 if not fixed OR $10 if signed off by any officer.

must have been dirty . . . or silver . . .
