Default Probably the best place to ease into the "sticker shock" that is the bay area.

Sunnyvale hits a sweet spot in terms of rental price. But, as with much of the 'burbs, it can be pretty boring. The "young professionals" there are family-oriented.

In my opinion, your best bets for a more sociable environment are the more modern luxury real estate developments dotted throughout the bay area. If you can stand the high population density, the people there are typically less family-focused and pretty active in interacting with their neighbors. Occasionally, the communities even sponsor mixers for its residents.

My two cents. Good luck with the move and welcome to CA!

Default I was wondering where you've been

We chatted a few times in your driveway. I was driving a silver B6S4 when you had your Nogaro Blue. living down the street from your old place on Wolfe/Iris. I see you got yourself a RS4, nice ;-)
I ended going the P-car route... Couldn't be happier.

BTW: The guy who rents your old house is working at my company ;-) funny.

Default really? Because we have been thinking a lot about CA...

Other than the facts that CA is bankrupt, has high tax, ridiculous housing prices, expensive gas, and more crime, we thought it was a nice place to move to.

CO is awesome place. But you need enjoy the cold, high altitude and dry air.

Default We were looking at places in this area actually. Its really close to work,

which is basically matilda and 101.

I've hear that Fremont is a nice place. Is this far from Sunnyvale, ie how bad is it to drive during rush hour?
