Default torque converter sad day

Got the unfortunate P0741 code and is proably the torque converter and needs to be replaced. My indy mechanic can't/doesn't want to do it as it involves removing/replacing the transmission. Does anyone know of a capable shop to do it outside of the dealerships in the Sacramento area. Getting a quote for approx 2500-3000 dollars for the repair currently.

I hope whatever enginner(s) for Audi designed the seals for the cams, oil return lines, torque conveter etc. is fired.
