puts on music shows and events at prospect park.
Graphic/Web Designer
Part-time on-site position
BRIC/Brooklyn Information and Culture is a multidisciplinary cultural organization in downtown Brooklyn. BRIC fulfills its mission to present cultural, educational and media programs reflective of the borough's diverse communities through four signature programs: Celebrate Brooklyn Performing Arts Festival, The Rotunda Gallery, BCAT/Brooklyn Community Access Television, and BRICstudio.
BRIC is seeking a talented in-house print/web designer to work under the supervision of BRIC's marketing staff to develop and execute print and marketing collateral pieces from creative concept to final production, to design e-blasts and website updates, and to participate in an organizational re-branding roll-out.
Responsibilities include the design and implementation of:
* E-blasts
* Graphics and layout for materials to accompany grant applications
* Newsletters
* Postcards announcing events
* Gala programs
* Advertisements
* Quarterly BCAT program guide and course catalogue
* Flyers
* Website updates
* Promotional items
This is a 12-hour per week part-time position.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or a related field with at least 2 years of work experience; excellent presentation graphics and print and web design skills; proficiency in HTML and Microsoft Office applications, Photoshop, Illustrator, Quark, Flash, Acrobat, PowerPoint, and other graphics programs; strong communications skills; excellent proof-reading skills; be self-motivated, organized, professional; and have the ability to function effectively as part of a team. Familiarity with non-profit arts organizations and webmaster experience a plus.
Applicants are requested to respond by January 18, 2007. Applications will be considered on a rolling basis. Position open until filled.
Candidates being considered must be prepared to present their portfolio.
