Craigslist...what a bunch of scammers...but I don't get it....
I listed a laptop and TV last night in two different categories.
The laptop ad triggered 10 emails from scammers, such as "Hello, I'm interested in your item, is it still for sale".
But what is it they are after sending these automated emails. Is it my email address, or is it to further some other type of money scam?

I would guess money scam. When I had my car on craigslist I got a few scams.
It always consisted of them not living close and they would have it shipped to them. They would send me a check(bad of course) for the amount and shipping. I was supposed to cash the check and send a payment to the shipper of $1500.00.

This is what they do...
A friend of mine (who shall remain un-named...<cough>Roger<cough> fell for this. They buy your item, let's say for the sake of argument for $250. They then "accidently" send you a check for $2500. Usually some excuse like "oh my secretary screwed up, sorry" follows. They then ask you just send them back the difference via wire transfer instead of waiting for them to send you a new check. You send them the money, their original check bounces, and you get screwed.
