Default The Geneva Accord peace plan. Practical? Better than the Roadmap? Worthless?

Ultimately, and unfortunately, I don't think it will be implemented. More of an academic exercise at this point- though perhaps the final plan, whenever that may be, may draw from it.

I like it better than the roadmap on some issues, mainly re: settlements, though its still lacking in specifics esp. w/ respect to water rights.

The most interesting thing about it to me so far has been Sharon's vehement opposition to it. If I didn't suspect it before (and you all know I did) his attitude clearly displays his intent to control the process through a crippled Roadmap.

Default Only 2 possible ways there's "peace".

A) Arabs push the Jews into the sea and end Israel. Unlikely, since the Israelis have the bomb. Or at least, several Arab capitals would have substantial additional parking.

B) Jews move Arabs into Jordan, the original "Arab homeland" as planned by the Brits. Pretty much Jews-only living roughly from Golan to Negev, Jordan River to the Med.

Palies have been raising their children with hate in their hearts for Jews for too long for there to be any other solution.

I was going to post something nasty, but decided that it will just end up getting both of us upset. Yelling on the internet never got anything accomplished. =)

I disagree, and I'll leave it at that.

Default Oh, for the love of...

Palestinians, (I know it's long, but try writing it out, your derogatory truncation makes you look like a hateful ***) if they have been raising their children with hate in their hearts have been training them to hate occupation and those that unjustly practice it, not Jews proper.

Americans hate occupation too. Only you'd never say we had to be raised that way, rather that it becomes obvious at the age reason steps in.

And you'd seriously consider that what the Brits had in mind for them has any bearing whatsoever on the situation now? Didn't get the memo that the empire is gone?

Two more things - I apologize for the lack of organization of this post... it's tough to find a way to adequately reply to such rubbish.

First, assuming that Palestinians "hate" Jews (which I have no reason to believe is true) I'm not sure that is any worse than what I perceive to be a much more widespread tendency for Israelis and others to completely deny, cover, and otherwise undermine the humanity of Palestinians generally. There is no greater example of this than within the IDF - a new book titled "Checkpoint Syndrom" discuss the brutality and joy that the IDF regularly exhibits on what they preceive to be non-human, or at least sub-Israeli, objects. Written by an Israeli soldier, by the way.

Secondly, if Arabs generally hate Jews, as practioners of a religion, they do it with no greater intensity than they do Christians. If there appear to be differences in the treatment of the two groups it stems solely from the fact that one happens to be rather insular and the source of an illegal occupation. Don't foget that ultimately it's the occupation that sets people off.

Just consider what the Arab world is doing to the other occupation game in town right now - the U.S. is suffering more than Israel.

Default allthough

I agree with you,
I dissaprove of the pictures.

Militant groups in the east always use children as a center for their political images.

they are too young to know what they are doing, and are only there to elicte a pathos response.

Its either a school bus of isreali kids bombed by arabs, or the isrealies killing arab boys when rading a house. the story is always tristed, and the people alwaysl look possed.

Yes the east breeds a hate for anything jewish / western / christian. I have been to some arab states, and have seen some of the predijuce
