Default Opinions: 2004 BMW 330ci vs. 2004 BMW M3 vs. 2004 Audi S4?

My Brother in law is giving his 2001 A4 to his mother and he's in the market for a new car. We live in Utah, you can make it through the winter w/o snows on a front wheel drive, but a RWD pretty much needs them if it's a good snow year. M3 can't use snow's with the 19" wheels he wants to get (rotors are too big). S4 is overpriced and not as nice as M3 (we both agree), but may be more practical. My opinion is that he should get either a 330ci or a 330xi. The 330ci could just use snows during the winter and do find I think and the xi would do fine as well, but won't be a coupe and will be slightly slower and have terrible wheel gap. Is there a G35 coupe with AWD yet? Help him decide.

Buy the M3 and an old Bronco/K5 Blazer for the snow.

Default You think the S4 is overpriced, but you've got him considering a 330xi?

Sssshhhhhheeeeiiiiiiit!

For that money, the M3 is the *best* car you can buy, but the S4 is a better value. More car for less money, more practical (especially considering the obvious winter concerns) and most importantly, almost as thrilling. Id go with the S4.

(G35 coupe isn't available with AWD in the U.S. Just the sedan)

Default You live in Provo? HAHAHAHA.

I'm originally from SLC. I still say the M3 and a bronco.

Bronco's get crappy gas milage, but, considering that it doesn't snow that bad most the time, he wouldn't need it most of the time. Plus, he could use it in the summer to go up into the mountains, and to tow stuff with. They're great trucks for the winter.

Doesn't seem like I15 ever gets that bad, snow wise. You should try up above foothill drive in SLC. Not so fun.

Default S4 doesn't look like a $55k. He's been really unhappy with his '01 A4

but he had a 2001 330i with the sport package and it was an amazing car, not one problem.
