Default Audi's controversial Super Bowl ad

Audi's 2017 Super Bowl Ad is getting a lot of attention and causing some to (say they will) abandon the brand. Judging by the comments on Audi USA's Twitter page they seem to be getting many more negative than positive responses with people accusing Audi of being hypocritical since there are only 2 women on their 12 person executive team:

https://twitter.com/Audi/status/826811795117465601

There should always be equal pay for equal work regardless of gender. But Audi seems ignorant to the fact that it's against the law in the US for companies to pay women lower than men for equal work. With plenty of their own emissions/deceptive sins still fresh on people's minds Audi might be better off taking the $5+M they likely spent on this ad and instead donating it to women's charities and to improve their customer communication/relations and expedite their cars through customs that are stuck in port.

Ad can also be found here:

Not the best tv ad Audi has run over the years. They might want to find another ad agency. In any case, I doubt it will cause those considering an Audi to buy something else instead. But it won't sell more cars either.

After reading the titles after the video was over it looks like equal pay and Lesbianism are the subjects of some of the other Superbowl advertisements.

Here's another by Audi where dolls and even girls can drive R8's

Looks like I'm the only one who doesn't see a negative in that ad? they start off by saying that people think men might be superior compared to women but it looks like it ends with equality? Or am I losing something here?

Ive never heard of that law. Apparently neither has any woman in the US complaining about making less than their male counterpart.

Regardless, I dont think less of the ad, I think it's timely and relevant.

As a father of 3 beautiful young girls, I personally have no issues with ad. I routinely remind my daughters they can be anything they want to be. Being a girl does not make them any lesser, but if anything makes them better and stronger.

I don't understand why there is such negative feedback for the ad.. I'm sure the message could have been presented differently but still, all the calls for a boycott and the insane reactions from people.. I just don't get it.

It seems that these days, everyone just wants something to jump on and tear apart and get angry over, and let their thumbs go wild on twitter. The sensitivity level is unbelievable.

This whole kerfuffle about the Audi ad is much ado about nothing IMO.
