In the past few years more and more Tesla appear on LA roads, more and more info I start received about this car that I desided give a try.
First schedule event I have to cancel do to production issue at my work, Tesla reschedule for Sunday 5 pm- I take my chance.
In my area Tesla store located in The Mall and our test car was parking on mall parking lot. I desided test model 85 witch is mid level trim.
Test drive take about 20-30 min and include local street and fwy driving.
Let me start to say: I never think this day will came, that I liked electric car. Last month I drive BMW i3 and leave very disappointed. $50k for fancy colored golf car.
Tesla change my mind today. That dasn't mean this car will be in my garag in 3 month (this how long is waiting line). With two daughters in the schools I just can justify $20k down payment and $1000+ payment a month for 72 month.
Let.s get back to Tesla:
- you can only lease if you owner of big business. For the rest normal ppl if you not payed in cash - you have to financed.
- sales people do not work on commission - they all salary employee.
- if you run out of "juice" they will came, and tow you to the nearest charge station - free.
- basic level model start $69,900 and if you need a navigation (Google map) on this amazing iPad like screen- prepare to pay $3,500.
- with basic model you also need to pay a $2000 for charger . Not regular charger to charge at home- charger that Tesla use on their free charger stations.
- step up (for $10K) to next level and you don't have to pay for charger.
- the handle and acceleration is amazing .
- exterior and interior is one of the best in industry (IMHO)
- federal tax credit - $7,500
- the are no CD player - BT stream or USB stick.
- all controls from IPad type screen: lite, sun ruff, driver dynamic, multi-media, rear-view camera.
- sunroof is $2500 extra option.
