People in the US either drive boxy SUVs, Japanese sedans, or anything but hatchbacks and wagons. We barely get hatches we only get the VW Golf, GTI, and the R. Also the Mazda 3 hatchback. Wagons are a rarity too, BMW done away the 5 series wagon, I think the 3 series wagon is still in production. the only other wagon that's on sale still is the Volvo V60 and the 'getting outdated' Audi Allroad. One day people will want the demand of hatches and wagons again. I miss the audi avant wagons a can bring the A6 avant over here or the A1? I've been to packed cities like San Francisco and I'd want to have an A1 over there so I don't need to fool around looking for a big enough space for the A7 to park in.

I have no idea why this is. I've always been an Avant owner, and am dismayed by the lack of good Avants on the market. Yes, the allroad is a great car, but I want the regular A4 (or S4, or A6/S6).. Part of the problem is that Audi would have to certify each body style, which is very expensive. Also, they don't want to import cars they might not sell. In speaking with execs at Audi, I know that they watch BMW and MB and see that their wagons languish on the lots more frequently than they'd like to see their Avants languishing.

The good news is, Audi's SUVs are VERY good, and drive like good proper cars.
