Have you done any driving school skills events first? Is this part of their
 

program, or is it strictly a track day?
For some clubs a skills school is required before you can go out on the track.

The NW Audi Club just had a GREAT 2-day (skills event and track day) at Bremerton.

Somewhat disagree. More like Alfa at PR probably should not be the first.
 

One of my preferred track day groups at PR is NW Alfa; along with IRDC, ProFormance, and Speedware. However, their track days are not the best for first timers at PR. PR is not that bad if you go out with the right group. It IS our home circuit in the Seattle area for goodness sakes. ProFormance has a great first-time program at PR, but it is not cheap. I have not taken any of the club "clinics" suggested, but I reckon they must be like the morning portion of the ProFormance advanced all-day class (some classroom info, slalom, threshold braking, evasive "moose" manuevers, etc.).

Not an expert, but you can't go wrong with Don's program at PR
 

I guess there was a little confusion about what you were doing because nobody looked at your link. Although I personally dislike Bremerton as a road course, it is a great place for a first time ride.

Don's program is not cheap; however, the ProFormance instructors are really very good. They are almost ALL local racers; definitely the best group of instructors you're going to find around here. Many, like Ken Hill, Bill Sponitz and Doc Doolittle, are lead instructors with other organizations, but the concentration of quality instruction is highest with ProFormance IMHO.

I guess it depends upon what your goals are.
 

Audi Club NW has requested two Bremerton dates and two Portland dates in 2008. We are hoping to have our schedule of events online by the end of the year. The road course that ACNW has used at Bremerton lately is not the standard road course and I think it is a lot of fun. And you can't beat Quattrofest at Portland. And the social aspect of getting together with a bunch of other Audi enthusiasts can't be found at a track event sponsored by another club. I would recommend you consider an ACNW event when making your future plans.<ul><li><a href="http://www.audiclubnw.org/">Audi Club Northwest</a></li></ul>
