Dear Starbucks
I find it a discrace on behalf of both the city you choose to set up corporate headquaters, and upon your whole corporation, that you do not have a single 24 hour coffee shop in the greater Seattle area. A city that is known for coffee and a company that redefined what coffee is in the USA, and yet you can't have a single location for students? As a law student, I spend many all nighters studying. And yet, I am driving 45 minutes to Tacoma to reach a 24 hour coffee shop (that is not a starbucks). Your whole company should re-evaluate your policy on this and realize that a potential operating loss in a 24 hour location in Seattle will actually generate a brand loyalty that is currently being sullied by this injustice to both me and my fellow 1000 students at Seattle University School of Law. As far as I'm concerned, this is discrimination, and you are very lucky that late night studying students is not a protected class, as far as our legal system is concerned. I hope all of your officers and board members spend this week contemplating both this and your shameful lack of a studying haven in Seattle that could nurture, rather than alienate, a large group of poor students in need.
i actually just email them this.
