A package that was shipped to me was stolen from my doorstep, and now I need to file a claim. I paid $500, and stuff is probably worth double to replace (new).

What usually happens when you do that?
Is there any risk in them saying that they won't pay me for the stuff lost?
How long does it take to get your money back?

Any help would be appreciated, as i've never had something disappear from my doorstep before.

i just shipped a bike worth over $4000, insured it for $2000 more incase of damage because it sure won't disappear insured.

if you do buy insurance, they don't leave it at your door in the first place. you have to sign in person or pick it up. when it's worth a lot, you should insure it because then it is handled more carefully, etc.

A back door, inside is one thing, front porch for $ items is obviously never a great idea.

Not sure if my stuff was insured, but it was shipped from a UPS Store type of retail place. I hope it was tho....

i would ping the vendor that u never got it. much better luck that way usualy. either he can resent or u can contact ur CC and say u never got it and let them sort it out.
