$15 dyno article
cool article about estimating hp with the 1/4 mile runs and other interesting insight about the 1/4 mile.

http://www-unix.oit.umass.edu/~tcroy/articles/15dollardyno.htm</a

I'll be using the $20 dyno Wednesday
As long as it doesn't rain.
My previous run of 104mph would indicate 325hp using a weight of 3450 (including me), even though my ET was only 13.9 (bad clutch)

I would guess within 5%....
At the time of my run, I would've guessed my car was in the 300-320 range, so it's probably on the high side of the range.
He came up with the calculation by using dyno numbers and timeslips from a lot of cars.
It's probably more of an indicator of wheel HP, because a car with more drivetrain loss, or taller gears, will post lower MPH numbers
So it's a ballpark figure, but it's still a better indicater than using the ET method.
It would be good for comparing HP between similar cars though, like comparing A4/S4 to each other, but not an A4/S4 to Honda Civic.
If we could get a lot of timeslips and dyno numbers, we could probably come up with our own calculation.
