1/4 mile questions
Weather permitting, I am going to the track saturday morning and see what I can run for times. I have been wanting to get some 1/4 mile time on my turbocharged 90 for a while now. As I am running the Tec-II, I will datalog all my runs, and try a few different maps. I intend to run low and high boost runs, 5 and 10 psi. Depending if race gas is available, I may try 12psi. The weakest link by far is the stock clutch, so launches will be done very carefully. This will be my first time ever on a track, hopefully some people with experience will have some advice. What should I bring, what do I need to do to the car to be prepared? Hopefully I will have some timeslips to post nextweek.

Really, you don't need to bring much at all...
...show up with your car as light as possible. You may want something to drink or sunscreen if you're out in the sun. Since it's a turbo car, be sure to open the hood to let the engine cool. A nitrous sprayer for the IC will help fight off heatsoak between runs too. If you think you can crack into the 13's, they will probably require you to wear a helmet. For launches, ignore the guy next to you and when you get the green light, don't worry about your reaction times; just get a good launch, even it's a second after the light turns green. Dragstrips are very sticky and you will likely not be able to break traction the least bit. Accordingly, most high-rpm drop clutch launches will bog. I suggest a moderate-rpm fast-slip launch, but be careful and don't smoke your clutch out.
