Default Is The 1.8T That Tunable?

I am just comparing info I am finding on the net. I see the PES supercharger conversion produces almost 300bhp and there is a conversion for the 1.8T to product 280bhp. Is the 1.8 really this tunable?

I've been all over the forums and I'm finding it very confusing. The 1.8 turbo that people are tuning, this is the one found in the normal spec A4's right?

Default Yes... the 1.8t is a normal spec A4 engine

And it is extremely tunable. You can spend a little, or a lot, and still have fun with it.

As amazing as it is - it is true. Very tunable for little cash (for a Euro "luxosport sedan")

Default Re: Oh Right Well Here's The Deal

The deal is I currently have a Ford Sierra XR4x4 with a turbo technics conversion. It has about 230bhp and almost 300lb/ft of torque. Plus of course 4 wheel drive.

I am idealy looking for a more modern alternative to the car. Something with similar (or more) power and comparable handling.

What I don't want to end up with is a car that doesn't feel quick enough and needs major internal modifications to improve. I do like the nature of a turbo charged engine (wohoo dump valve LOL) so the 1.8 turbo would be very attractive.

How well is the 1.8 catered for in the tuning market, I like the look of the PES kit but what are the alternatives?
