2.2L s4 transmission ??
anyone know how beefy the tranny are on a urs4? how much power can they hold? and can you laungh them and how high rpm do you usually launch before you think something would go?

I have dropped the clutch w/a 380whp 5 banger at 6000rpm but had a real good Sachs racing clutch
I have dropped the clutch on an rs2 tranny @ 6500rpm w/a 440whp 4 cylinder, same clutch. The URs4 tranny is bulletproof for the most part, but shifts like **** unless you put the JHM short shifter pieces in. Call Tim @ NEA, he is running a URS4 5 speed in a 500whp + car with no problems, Rs2 is a bit stronger. Buy a really good clutch.

Eric, First gear go first because its very fragile. The S6 1995.5 tranny
had better 1st gear - longer and stronger. Im not 100% sure if the 1995 S6 had that better 1st gear too. But im 100% sure about the 95.5.
Your second option is the RS2 6spd. But thats some cash... + some good clutch.

that tanny is as strong as the tranny used in the b5 s4. they also use 3 of the same gears, with the same part numbers. i also ran both transmissions in my car before.
