2000 A4 1.8T tip power upgrade, I want a lil more power than a K04 but nothing crazy...
was thinking about possibly trying to piece together something using a GT25. Is that what the old APR stage 3 used? what else would be needed? the obvious I know, manifold, oil return lines, turbo inlet piping, injectors (what size??), possibly a 3" maf housing or vr6 maf, and of course tuning. I assume I could possibly work something with tuning with an old version of apr stage 3 or something custom but not sure. any input on this would be appreciated.
thanks

APR Stage 3 is GT28R previously CALLED a GT25.... you will need a level 10 tranny to handle it
do a k04 and cams or lighten your car... or maybe try a different tact via a head gasket spacer and lower your compression and do a custom tune with a k04 (e.g. chipped TT225)
240->280 hp isnt a huge hump...especially through a slushbox.

decided to go with just k04 most likely...
gonna give that new atp manifold a shot, worth a try. since its a 2000 ill prolly end up doing j31 and just lowering the boost a tad bit with an mbc to reduce the surging effect several people had.
may look into the cams and head gasket spacer with some custom tuning down the road but not at the moment.
thinking about taking a few minor steps to lighten the car but definitely nothing crazy, like pulling lots of stuff out.
i bought the car cause i loved the body style not because i wanted a sports car so the slushbox thing is no big deal to me. just wanting a lil more power.

k04 is good for a little more power, but as they say, once you get the k04 you'll want more. Why not
consider the PES T-28? With a slushbox, all it recommends is the tip chip. Either way, I like my k04 setup, so maybe you will as well. It is a step in the right direction, but it leaves me asking for more. I plan to go bigger in a few years.
